0 Iconfu: Free Online Icon Editor and Library

Iconfu is an easy-to-use free online icon editor, combined with an icon collection of over 12,000 free icons gathered from open-source collections around the world.

With the canvas zoomed 16x by default for pixel-by-pixel drawing, the iconfu editor is optimized for drawing icons. With a variety of drawing tools, drawing modes, transformations, undo, and direct colour channel manipulation, iconfu offers powerful ways to draw new icons or to adapt existing ones.

It's ridiculously easy to make animated gifs using iconfu: draw your frames in the editor and as each frame is ready, just add it to the Animator. Then just right-click and download your animated .gif!

One warning: the GIF format doesn't handle semi-transparent pixels at all well. The Animator converts transparent pixels into opaque black. If you want transparent pixels, draw them all solid white, then specify #FFFFFF as the "transparent colour" in the Animator.
